Save Yourself From the Horrors of Office Coffee With a Gourmet Coffee Mix

Defined Tag:

It's no secret. Office coffee, or the coffee sitting in coffee pots in any sort of waiting room, is not gourmet coffee - it is the worst. It may taste fine when it is first brewed, but the longer it sits the worse it gets. No one wants to make a fresh pot, so after a few hours you are left with sludge.

However, there is a solution to this problem and it just might make you the envy of all your co-workers and friends. Just imagine enjoying a fresh cup of your favorite flavored coffee in the afternoon, just when your body needs that extra kick of caffeine. It's possible with an instant gourmet coffee mix. These coffee mixes are becoming very popular. They taste nearly as good and as fresh as ground gourmet coffee. And the best part is they can be enjoyed anywhere you have access to boiled water.

Instant coffee mixes contain premium ingredients, so they already have an advantage over canned coffee from the supermarket. The flavoring may come from flavored coffee beans or gourmet flavored powders. The key here is the convenience. You can carry the packets with you and enjoy a wonderful mug of your favorite flavored coffee anytime or anywhere there is hot water, a coffee mug and a spoon.

You can even make your own gourmet coffee mix if you are on a tight budget. Why not experiment with different flavors and develop you own customized gourmet coffee mix.

For example, if you like the taste of spicy mocha, you can make a mix from ingredients that you probably already have around the house. You'll need two cups of powdered creamer, two cups of instant chocolate milk powder, one and one third cups of instant coffee, one cup of sugar, one teaspoon of cinnamon and one half teaspoon of nutmeg. Mix all of these ingredients well, to distribute the flavorings evenly. Then, store the mixture in an airtight glass container. Whenever you want a cup of gourmet flavored coffee just mix one heaping teaspoon into a cup of hot water.

If you don't want to make your own coffee mix or prefer a wider variety, there are plenty of instant gourmet coffee mixes out there. Do an Internet search and you can find just about any flavor known to man.

Some of the supermarkets carry instant gourmet coffee tins. Specialty coffee shops may carry instant packets, but may be a little pricier.

Take your favorite gourmet coffee mix with you when you dine out. Just order a cup of hot water. In most restaurants it's free. This is common for people who drink tea so you won't seem out of place. Just beware of waiters who come by your table and want to top off your coffee.

So anytime you need that caffeine kick and just can't stand the thought of bitter office coffee, just grab a cup of hot water, mix in your gourmet coffee and enjoy! And if you find a couple of your home made mixtures that everyone seems to enjoy, why not package them and give your own gourmet coffee mix as gifts!
